Partial-skein yarn calculator
Convert the weight of leftover yarn to an estimated length using its original label.
Completely free. Noncommercial. No account, ads or uploads.
Enter your measurements and calculate to see the result.
How the calculation works
Remaining length = remaining yarn weight ÷ original label weight × original label length. Use grams for both weights and the exact same yarn for all values.
Worked example
42 g of yarn labeled 220 m per 100 g gives 42 ÷ 100 × 220 = 92.4 m remaining.
What this tool covers
A yarn weight category cannot establish metres per gram. Exclude labels, cones and tools. This calculator models one partial skein; a remaining weight greater than the original full skein is declined.
