Design a little character

Choose pieces in Design. Read the full pattern or follow along in Make.

Development preview. The 3D view shows solved stitch spheres and constraint cylinders. Realistic fabric and physical making checks are future work.

How to use this workspace

Design edits your pieces. Make opens Full pattern with All selected; Follow along uses the same current instructions. Add new piece opens the supported recipe catalog. Reading never marks progress complete. Print defaults to the full pattern; choose Selected section explicitly.

Use Project → Open an example to start from an example, then choose a piece. Change its supported shape or yarn controls, or deliberately enable custom course editing. Wait for the current instructions and schematic view before following them. The focused 3D canvas supports Arrow keys to orbit, Plus/Minus to zoom and Home to fit all pieces; Tab leaves it.

Mark counted stitches and keep personal materials, assembly plans and notes. Completed changes save automatically in this browser. Reopen checks the saved browser project; a project backup is your portable recovery copy.

Prepare current print output after evaluation. For offline use, install the complete browser assets, wait for Saved in this browser and copy any unapplied drafts, then open the verified version and bookmark /app/. Offline installation does not save your project automatically.

Opening Yarnshape… Your saved creation will open when the studio is ready.

Schematic preview

Background changes last for this visit and keep the current view and making progress. Print and image captures always use white.

Your assembled arrangement keeps current solved piece sizes. Manual positions survive construction edits; untouched curated pieces adapt automatically. Compact exploded is a temporary inspection view. Sewing, folding and physical fit are not simulated. Older projects retain their legacy views until you explicitly adopt an assembled arrangement.

Use preview as saved placements replaces the saved position and rotation of every current piece. Undo restores the previous placements.

Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom. Reset view restores the example angle and fits all pieces. Camera angles last for this visit; reopening a project uses its default view. Keyboard: Tab to the 3D view (blue focus border); Arrow keys orbit, Plus (+ or =) zooms in, Minus (-) zooms out, Home fits all pieces. Tab leaves the view. Choose a stitch from the keyboard-accessible list below to link it with the view. Openings remain open.

Instructions and progress

These saved preferences change instruction presentation only. Maker notes and original finishing text keep their stated terminology; no physical making qualification is inferred.

Open a target/run draft first. Filling a choice does not apply it; stage the section and then apply the draft.

    Choose a round

    Choose an ordered stitch path

Select stitches in the view or instruction list, then add them explicitly to a scope. Suggestions preserve native traversal order; they do not infer crochet-forward direction. Manual target and finishing controls remain available.

Open the appropriate draft before staging. Target count, repeat and coverage must already match; counts are never repaired automatically. Apply the target draft or save the finishing draft separately.

    Print current project

Prepare an immutable all-piece schematic image and current instructions with personal plans. Material view preserves the current camera and viewport; fit all pieces first. Material comparisons are schematic, not actual size. Printing is a manual browser action; a local compiler test is not a guarantee of your browser or printer output.
